New shoes!

Sports and I…well, let’s just say we’re not the best of friends and I’m of the strong opinion that tracksuits should be left to the gym. However, even after my lack of interest in the whole sports luxe trend initially, there’s something that’s managed to convince me it’s not all bad. Wedged trainers. It’s a touchy subject amongst the fashion crowd, dividing the best of fashionistas in to a love/hate feud. To be honest when I first spied them I couldn’t stand them. The idea of trainers whilst not playing, or attempting to play, football freaked me out completely. But slowly, I’ve fallen in love. Since then, I’ve been trying to buy a pair of these beauties at as low a cost as possible. I’d come to the conclusion that it possibly wasn’t meant to be when all available wedged trainers were way out of my price league. Then, I found the pair for me. Believe it or not, from Primark, for £15! White with metallic gold strips and my oh my are they perfect. In case you didn’t notice, I said £15!

Look:

The question of how to wear wedged trainers is an easy one to answer. Mine go with anything and everything. From my skinny jeans, leather shorts, and white pleated skirt right on through to my black body con dress. In case you’re not yet convinced of their fashion credentials, they are so amazingly comfortable as well, especially considering they’re inexpensiveness. Though I’m not sure the term “hidden heel” applies to all of them, they certainly do elongate the legs brilliant. These are set to be my summer shoe staple.

Did I mention they were £15?!

Rihanna for River Island.

Two of my favourite fashion Rs - Rihanna and River Island - are combining to form a fashion mega power. River Island announced on Facebook earlier today, that Rihanna is going to be designing her first clothes line for them in spring 2013. I’m so excited, I mean imagine the beauty that will be created. RiRi is one of my fashion icons, so honestly this is some of the best news I’ve heard all year. The idea of having to wait so long for it though…How will I cope?! The lady herself always talks about her love of British fashion, just think about the video for “we found love”, so I’m really hoping there will be some punk influences in there. Washed out denim, studs and leather? Yes please. Then there’s her 80’s “What’s my name”/ “rude boy” style as well, which I’d love to see make a subtle appearance. In fact, I’m pretty sure which ever style she goes for, it’ll be simply amazing.

Wow, I went a bit over board with the pictures there...oh well!

French fashion.

Bonjour! Hi there guys, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I’m sorry that I haven’t written in so long. Busy, busy, busy me. Anyway exams are over and I’m back from my holiday to France. Now, being the clothes fanatic that I am, I just had to buy some new clothes. Not only did I get some stunning pieces for the summer holidays  (a week away yay) but I also ticked off number four on my bucket list of things to do before I die, “buy an item of clothing from France”. In fact I ticked number four off six times! In the week I was away I bought six pieces of pure beauty.

1.       Suede fringed skirt for $18.

2.       Hawaiian shirt $9.

3.       Pink mullet skirt $16.

4.       Black and peach sheer hem dress $19.

5.       Black silk shirt with studded collar and sleeves $5.

So that’s a total of $67 on clothes, no bad eh? I’m not sure how this has happened but I’ve gained a reputation for being the style obsessed girl in my year, so I had a lot of people on the trip asking for my advice and opinion on clothes. I find it one of the most flattering things that can happen to me if I’m honest.  Then on the last day of the week, on the coach ride home, they gave out some “awards” to certain girls, so one girl got “best laugh at the dinner table” and another got “most polite”. I tell no word of I lie, it was the perfect end to my week when I got awarded “best dressed”.

Any way I digress, these pictures show two peices very similar to my pink skirt and silk shirt, they aren't exact but close enough to give you the idea.

In case you wondered, fashion in French is “la mode”!

Postcard prints.

One more exam left! Tomorrow I sit my physics GCSE and after that all of my external exams are completely over for this year. Man, that feels good to say. I’ve revised like crazy, so fingers crossed all goes well. Anyway, with the end of the most important academic part of this year, so begins the count down to the summer holidays here in England. The release from school uniform for six whole weeks. As you can imagine this prospect is a rather exciting one for a fashion obsessive like myself. One trend that’s got me even more hyped about summer is postcard prints. I’m in love.

How could you resist these beauties?

Pack it in! My love of backpacks.

Not so long ago, or so it seems, I was that little year seven with the massive backpack. I wasn’t exactly a fashionista in those days, I’ll be honest. It was ill fitting jeans (hola ankle swingers) and smiley face t-shirts, all tied together with some rather hideous bright pink pumps. But I was doing something right. I know, it sounds impossible but it was all in the backpack. Okay, so I wasn’t exactly rocking the same sort of bags that I love now, but at least I was part way there.

Last Christmas I got given a backpack, and my oh my, that’s where it all began. It’s a vintage beauty firstly, and you all know that I have a huge obsession with that sort of thing. If you don’t know about it, read some more of my posts, you’ll soon catch on! Secondly it’s a carpet bag with leather pockets and straps, so perfect. Thirdly, I can quite literally fit everything inside it. Honestly, I’m talking kitchen sink.

Here it is…

In case you wondered, it was bought at ASOS market place online. You should check it out if you haven’t already my lovelies.
So yes, after that my love of backpacks has only grown. I would happily spend all of my money on them, well almost!

Pick of the packs:

Aldo Feener Aztec Backpack £40, ASOS

Paisley Print Backpack £30, ASOS

Tie dye backpack £30, Topshop

Large washed backpack in lilac, Topshop

Exam time blues and a blazer in blue.

Apologies for the lack of posts I’ve made in the recent weeks, and in advance for the fact that I won’t be making many in the coming week or so either. I’m currently a few days away from sitting a few of my GCSE exams (save me now), and so have been, and will be, revising like crazy! When I haven’t been revising I’ve been cramming in spending time with my boy, friends, and family. I’ve still been thinking about fashion almost constantly of course, not very helpful whilst attempting to learn the molecular structure of hydrogen, but I simply haven’t had the time to post at all. It’s honestly so frustrating knowing that I could be immersing myself in clothes whilst I’m having to focus on the mathematics behind surds…don’t even get me started on surds okay? I will start crying.

Anyway, back to the clothes. Mary-Kate Olsen in one of the most beautiful outfit I’ve seen in sometime.

It’s so stunning. Pretty please can one of you lovelies buy me a blue oversized blazer like this one? No? It was worth a try. Everything about her look is perfect. From the blazer to the block heels, I adore it all. I can’t help but wonder whether she thought about the connection between her bracelets and snake skin bag? I hope so. That’s fashion dedication for you if she did. I’m so very glad that she chose to wear the black mini, I’m over the whole blazer with nothing underneath thing. Even if it is barely there, the dress saves the outfit from becoming trashy. I love the jewellery pile up, wearing the same bracelet on both wrists is inspired. The simple chain necklace is such a stark yet beautiful contrast to the chunky bracelets and numerous rings. Another thing I noticed, and can’t quite tell if was intentional, is the almost exact colour match of her eyes and the blazer. Whether this is simply a happy coincidence or well executed plan, she makes it seem effortless. The tousled hair says it all really.

Bravo.
