LWD

A pair of skinny blue jeans, a patent tote, a beige trench coat and a pair of heeled black pumps. The items that can be pulled out of your wardrobe and slung on. The fail safe pieces that mould our "I've got nothing to wear" days. Perhaps however the most prominent of all the classic pieces is the little black dress. Whether paired with a string of intricately threaded pearls or brightly coloured sky scrapers, for all women of all ages and all shapes, the LBD is a wardrobe staple that seems to always win.

Mine is a French Connection mini dress with long sleeves and a thin gold zip traveling from the lower back to the neck. It's one of the nicest things in my wardrobe. Among the various garish neons and clashing patters, my FCUK dress has a simple beauty about it.

This season though, it seems the world's favourite wardrobe classics is taking a backseat. The LBD has been whitewashed and has become the LWD, if you will. Alexander Wang, Fendi and Balmain all pioneered the style, pushing aside all previous associations and suggesting that for Spring/Summer 2013 the white dress will become a wardrobe staple. Despite the obvious growth in dry cleaning bills that the minimalist look will conjure, fashion lovers everywhere are gagging to get their manicured hands on their own LWD! Thanks to the numerous catwalks shows which exhibited the fresh take on a simple dress, women everywhere may be reaching towards their little white dress instead of its older sister this season.

    1. Yeah, I'd imagine it would suit a darken skin tone best! I love it personally, but I'm not sure if I'd wear it myself! xx
