Culture shock

This season there's been a collision of prints, shapes and textures to form one of the micro tends for a/w 2012 - Hyper culture. Consider this the trend where almost everything goes; kimono style patterns, psychedelic prints, shaggy furs and country style gingham all bought together in a bombardment of clashing colours. It's a light relief from some of the more serious styles that filled the autumn/winter catwalks, with black and blood red being one of the only no gos of hyper culture.

Designers including Jeremy Scott, Louise Gray and  Meadham Kirchhoff pioneered this trend and created collections that spoke to my inner child and fashionista. To pull it off you need to be playful with your clothes whilst veering away from wearing the wardrobe of a toddler!

Here are my personal favourites:

Meadham Kirchhoff:

Louise Gray:

Jeremy Scott:

I truly adore Jeremy Scott's collection but what's your favourite take on the hyper culture trend?

Thanks for reading guys,
